My Answer to 2Pac’s Question
Elijah surfing in Kihei, Oahu. August 2026.
In 1993, 2Pac wrote something for his godson Elijah: Keep Ya Head up. In it, he asked a powerful question:
I wonder why we take from our women
Why we rape our women, do we hate our women? […]
Time to heal our women, be real to our women
And if we don’t, we’ll have a race of babies
That will hate the ladies that make the babies
And since a man can’t make one
He has no right to tell a woman when and where to create one
I have the answer for Him: patriarchy.
Patriarchy stems from inception of the false idea that you came from a man. If you review the Bible, not only did a man come from a woman (Genesis 2) but a child, Jesus, had his lineage traced through men (Matthew 1).
In reality, especially in the times of Jesus, you could never be sure who the Father of the child was. There is simply no way to prove his patrilineal ancestry. Insecurity in this and/or a pathological desire for control lead to structural enforcement. Fundamentally, children come from the body of a Woman therefore there is never any question who the Mother of a Child is. This matrilineally defines matriarchy, the belief and truth that humans came from the body of a Woman. The woman literally lead the child into Life itself.
The first step to trying to confirm biological fatherhood is to create a system that makes it so you own the woman. First, this is done with instituting ownership of her body. What is ownership of her body? Ownership of her ability to have sexual intercourse. If you institutionalize monogamy, then you can legally enforce and limit who the woman has sex with. If this is done to such an extreme that it is only one mate, you have the best way to approach certainty that you are the Father. In order to own the child, you must own the woman.
Marriage is the original “take from our women.”
Once you take from women with marriage, then you have the institute for rape. Her body is owned by him, so he can do what he wants with it by law. Consent was given away with marriage. Getting on the knee was just for show.
Therefore healing and being real to our women requires dissolution of marriage as an institution. Reforming or developing reactionary philosophies is not sufficient. You can never have real equality in a system that intentionally built inequality. It is a bandaid on a broken, false system. It does not address the root cause. I am certain that without removing marriage from society, the take, rape, and hate of women will persist.
Patriarchy hates the ladies that makes the babies because it is based in insecurity of not knowing if he is the Father.
Once marriage was installed, so to was the nuclear family. Not only does marriage force a Man to own the Mother but also own the Child. Once Mother and Child are owned by the patriarch, his teaching is created within the nucleus of the Child. Now the hate of patriarchy is concentrated within the family and generates trauma to be passed down by the generations as opposed to allowing villages of elders and community members to influence the Child’s development and teaching. The teaching itself comes from the patriarchy, not the matriarchy. Maximal self realization and understanding of Self vs. ego requires dissolution of marriage.
Radical rejection of the patriarchy must be done. The matrix to Heaven is in the word—matriarchy is the first part.
The grand finale is, of course, freeing her from patriarchy and allowing her to have sex with whoever she wants wherever she wants whenever she wants with whomever she wants…just like all adult humans should be able to do.
Here is the greatest secret, too: patriarchy hates ladies and gentlemen.
